Jackee was the first Black woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Sadly, since that day in 1987 no other black woman has been honored with that award.

We need to get back to producing quality black sitcoms like 227 so that can even be a possibility. No one from House of Payne or Meet the Browns is going to get nominated. It’s one thing to give black actors work….It’s another thing to give them quality work.
